A developer came to me with an error message the other day--(Oracle 11gR2 on Solaris) ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 16 with name "_SYSSMU16_3927122202$" too small The error was recorded in Grid Control, with the ID of the SQL that caused it. To my surprise it was a query on ALL_IND_PARTITIONS. I would have expected a query on the data dictionary to look for consistent-read blocks in the SYSTEM tablespace, as create/drop/alter index DDL would create undo there. Am I wrong? Has this changed in 11g? TIA! Paul Baumgartel UBS AG IB Accounting Solutions 400 Atlantic Street Stamford, CT 06904 203.719.4368 paul.baumgartel@xxxxxxx www.ubs.com
