RE: OMS and Repository Preferences

We originally had 10gOEM with 2 node RAC cluster also containing an OMS each.
Due to pressure on CPU /memory we separated the OMS to new servers and also
brought in the DR OMS so that we had 3*OMS pointing to a 2 node (11GR1 RAC
cluster).
For 12C we are keeping the 3*OMS but moving to a single node OEM db (11GR2)
dataguarded to the DR site.
We believe that will give us sufficient grunt to manage the target base we have
(~ 6000 targets) as well as provide the necessary resilience.

So here's my question:
What is your preference when building an Enterprise Manager environment? Do
you house the OMS and the repository on the same host or separately and I want
to know WHY you build it one way or the other, not just "It just should be that
way.. " :)
