In Oracle's defense, if you read through that note, they do clearly explain why 
they require the games, and give very good reason.  The games aren't really 
required for Oracle obviously, but they are just part of the default install, 
and if you don't have a default install, then you could waste a lot of your 
time and theirs tracking down all the missing components.
