Hi Anurag This is called "Platform Migration" High level overview The source database needs to be the same version as the target If the Endian is the same for each platform then you useTTSIf the Endian is different, you need RMAN to convert the datafiles along with TTS NFS mounts of the target are a big help and could be quicker (& more logical) than FTP
On and enterprise system this isnt trivial undertaking.You will have to estimate the outage needed by doing benchmarks before the actual migration.
