One more solution which I using constantly, after discovered mentioned
behavior:
write TAR text in notepad or Word, save it then on you HDD, then push to
metalink ;)

I was 2/3 of the way to creating a TAR... Metalink suggested I go see a
page
that shows how to generate a statspack report... And it brought it up in
the
same browser I had my TAR in. I lost the whole TAR and now have to
start
all over again.
I am not clicking on any of these suggested links anymore!
