what is your application basically...
what stephen is saying that is really interesting idea and what Nail is
saying that is equally true.
cause rows will be populated only if there are inserts..whether there are
bulk inserts or updates depends upon the architecture of the application..eg
in mfg industry or scm I think updates will be more cause you have LRPs
(long range planning divided into ARP annual opearting plan for that your
have montly schedules, which all departments monitors) where as if its CRM
or service support kind/ticketing based application then inserts may be
more casue your customers are using your products and are giving you
feedback
for presenetion and supporting your needs/arguments what stephen is saying
that will be defiantely help you..
and as dba you should monitor actual data_file size I think the views
dba_data_files, dba_free_space can be of help
