That's the size of the logs on our SAP system. It switches about
every 90 seconds during busy periods.

I've used 1 gig on a DW, and I've heard of much larger.

I would have to say though that the size of the database really
has little to do with the size of the log files, as implied
by the consultant you are quoting.

A 30 TB read only database probably doesn't require large logs.

Our measly 500 Gig SAP system does require large logs, as it
sees a lot of activity on occasion.
