If you look at the requirements for Oracle in the oraprams.ini file you will see what needs to be loaded in the OS install to satisfy Oracle installer. I think the file is located on Disk1/dbs/ You should be able to install Oracle on just about any OS with the correct binaries. Ron >>> fish_dba@xxxxxxxxxxx 02/25/2004 2:13:56 PM >>> Hello: This thread has been great, I'm in a similar situation. I was thinking about setting up a "practice box" can Oracle 9iR2 be installed on Red Hat Professional Workstation? I know that it is not supported by figured it would be a inexpensive way to practice. Has anyone been able to get this to work? >From: "Nelson, Allan" <anelson@xxxxxxxx> >Reply-To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: RE: Linux & Oracle - Departing from the DARK SIDE (Windows) >Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004 12:48:07 -0600 > >Yep AS/ES 3 are based on Red Hat 9. > >Allan > >-----Original Message----- >From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >[mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Koivu, Lisa >Sent: Wednesday, February 25, 2004 8:11 AM >To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: Linux & Oracle - Departing from the DARK SIDE (Windows) > > >Good morning all, > >I must admit I never paid attention to the Linux posts.
