Stephen - Go for 9.2.0.4, too many bugs remain in 9.2.0.2. Yes, in 9i LMT is
the default for system tablespace and if that is LMT you cannot create a
DMT. Haven't tried it, just quoting.

Subject: LMT SYSTEM Tablespace?

I have a vague recollection of not wanting to make the SYSTEM TBS
Locally Managed in earlier releases. I can't recall if that is a real
memory or imagination. In any case, does anyone know of any reason not
to use Locally Managed Tablespaces for all tablespaces in 9.2.0.2+?

Thanks
Stephen Andert
