Thanks, Maris and Mark for the reply. I am also more inclined towards
providing the necessary data extract to the other company along with
configuration files and installable custom components. There may be some
work required from the other company but if they have decided to buy a
business then they need to put some effort. This way it is more controlled
and less risky of deleting something critical and having potential
performance issues.

BUT you seriously do NOT want to delete. Almost certainly you want to copy
out what you need to give them.
Delete with a plethora of indexes and constraints is death incarnate for
performance. Delete is also inherently more error prone than copy out, both
in general and even more so in your specific case.
If you fail to delete something in the clone you are giving them, the
horse is gone from the barn.
If you fail to copy out something they have a right to and need, it will
still be available from you to send selectively.

All,
This question is related to the Oracle Application 12.2.6. In this Oracle
instance we have two separate business units running and recently we have
decided to sell one of the business units to some other company. I think
there is some kind of agreement between our company and the other company
to provide them (buyer) a cloned copy of Oracle instance by removing all
the related data for the business unit which we are *not* selling. I am
looking for different ways in which we can delete the data for the business
unit we are *not *selling so that the buyer company will not have access
to our private data.
Does anyone have experience or any suggestions, how to handle these kinds
of scenarios when companies are splitting up and need to protect their
data?
