How to calculate number of sessions per ID

Hi everybody:

I am running oracle 10.2.0.3 and I need to calculate the number of sessions
opened by a specific ID
per day.  Is DBA_HIST_ACTIVE_SESS_HISTORY view appropriate for that task?
If not, what would
be a better source?
