Around how much did it cost getting Oracle (with Partitioning) Enterprise Solution running on RH 2 cpu system?
I was under the impression the support cost was what they got you on.
Support costs do not differ between platforms AFAIK.
Oracle has touted Linux as a low cost platform for Oracle.
Where they get you is the licensing for RAC. This may have been what you heard.
Licensing for EE with partitioning on a 2 CPU box lists at $100k.
Add in some enterprise level storage, and then you see that the price of the OS license really doesn't make much difference in the overall cost of the system.
