Paula: I'm responding a bit late here, but I think Oracle offers somewhat of a discount for disaster sites. The premise is both sites cannot be online and available at the same time. Available is the key word and you should work with your rep on how to price this. Thank You Stephen P. You can work with your CR to get few % off (10-20?) for DR but that's about it - unless you come-up with a home grown solution and are willing to live with the associated risks (such as entire DR on EMC R2) Thanks, Nikhil Khimani Market Axess 140 Broadway, 42nd Floor New York, NY 10005 (212) 813-6230 (W) nkhimani@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: Paula_Stankus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Paula_Stankus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, June 28, 2004 11:16 AM To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Help - somehow got in the middle of this Does Oracle provide any kind of active-passive licensing strategy for DR = sites??? Microsoft does and doesn't charge for the passive side. = Oracle says they don't do this. =20 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- The contents of this e-mail are intended for the named addressee only.
