Yep, I did mean {}.

Not that I really try to remember this.

The example I gave was a cut and paste from another
email that someone sent me for a command to run looking
for some source code.

He obviously could not remember the syntax either. ;)

sure you meant the oh-so-easy-to-remember:
-exec <cmd> {} \;
;-)
