We are currently using this to failover for hardware errors but not for
database errors. Since database errors have to be evaluated in an HACMP
environment but in case an hardware issue arises we have graceful shutdown
scripts embeeded in the HA scripts scripts and sanity checking built into the
scripts on failover before a database is brought up.

I need to control this process and be aware but I also realize
hardware and software are becoming more and more sophisticated.
