Kart,

You're really going to want to carefully review the fine online documentation.

Assuming Oracle11g Release 2, you're going to want to start at this page <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/nav/portal_11.htm> first and choose your OS platform.

Assuming Linux, you'll want to first review the last two items in the list of docs for that platform...

1. Grid Infrastructure Installation Guide for Linux
   <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41961/toc.htm>
2. Real Application Clusters Installation Guide for Linux and Unix
   <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41962/toc.htm>

For the first step of setting up the clustered nodes, you'll probably want to review the chapter entitled "Typical Installation for Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41961/typinstl.htm#CWLIN147>" for a simplified cookbook approach of the commands you'll want to run. But, from your question, I'm betting that your Unix admins are going to want justification for each step, so it might be a good idea to also review the " Advanced Installation Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster Preinstallation Tasks <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41961/prelinux.htm#CWLIN168>" section, in particular the section marked " Advanced Installation Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster Preinstallation Tasks <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41961/prelinux.htm#CWLIN168>".

Then, you'll want to do the same for the second step of creating a RAC database on the Grid infrastructure, reviewing " Before You Start: Planning Your Installation <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41962/chklist.htm#BHACBGII>" and " Overview of Server Hardware, Network and Operating System <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41962/chklist.htm#BHAHHIFG>", especially " Overview of Secure Shell (SSH) Configuration <http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41962/chklist.htm#BHADDJFE>".

Hope this helps...

-Tim
