We know about the "i".  The teleprompter said 8.1 but Larry started reading
it as "8i".

It is soooo funny to see how that rumor keeps going on out there. If we
really thought that 13 is an unlucky number and is to be avoided at all
costs, would we have released OEM 13c (https://docs.oracle.com/cd/
E63000_01/EMCON/overview.htm#EMCON109)? Probably not! And technically
speaking we switched to YYQ. ;)

That is unlikely to happen. We already got Oracle Cloud Infrastructure,
nothing to do with Middleware though: https://cloud.oracle.
com/cloud-infrastructure

Don’t forget the “i” for Internet! ;)

Happy Monday everybody!

Thx,

Gerald

I suspected Oracle wasn't going to use 13 as a version number for its
database, like apartment buildings avoid numbering floors that way.  They
switched to YYMMDD

Now I am wondering at what point it will rename Oracle Fusion Middleware
"Oracle Cloud Infrastructure".   Sounds a lot more exciting.

Grid, Cloud... I wonder what the next exciting monicker will be.
