Who would want to do THAT??? My first job in "The Business" as an Operator
included printing salary checks. I didn't want to look at the checks, but I
HAD to because they were pre-numbered and each had to come out perfect or it'd
cost Accounting an hour to do the void and re-issue. It made me sick knowing
what some idiots got paid to do/know nothing. And at the time, my $.25/hour
increase from $4.25 was refused because my starting salary already included the
pay increase afforded to all other employees. Yeah, right.

Disclaimer: I'm an idiot, but the difference between me and other idiots is
that I know I'm an idiot.

Why don't we take our own survey? Pick one willing person to collect the
stats and make some sense of them. I think a lot of us are closer to each
other than we think, as the big companies check the going median salaries
constantly. I don't believe Robert Half - they have Salt Lake City median as
$122K! NOT!

We could send our info to one person everyone is comfortable with, who would
be willing to keep it confidential, and figure out medians for areas and
company sizes, etc., for us. If you think that is too personal, let me know.
It would only be to help us. I don't even know what the guys I work with
make. It would be nice to know the going typical salaries/rates.
