In summary, incremental backups can be much smaller and faster than full 
backups, especially in 10g+ with a block change tracking file.  I've been 
running incremental backups with RMAN and Netbackup for years and haven't had 
any problems with them.  As with any backup/recovery strategy - you should test 
it (especially the restore & recovery) thoroughly in your environment.
