Hi there,

for all of you suffering from bug 8740030 where an "OHASD stop" isn't
executed during system restart when using Oracle Restart there are good
news.

When not stopping a database resource manually before a server reboot
smon had to perform instance recovery. On closer inspection we found
that no shutdown operation was performed for a database resource.

Oracle released patch 8740030 for Linux x86-64 today which should
hopefully fix the problem. Otherwise 11.2.0.2 will include the patch.

Hope that helps, I haven't tested it but will do later.

Regards,

Martin
