No, I'm pretty sure you can name it whatever you want - it just uses the dmp
extension by default. Just try running an import with show=y if you want to
verify its contents.

Subject: Extensions for export files

I have been given a dumpfile (no log file with it) that does NOT have a .dmp
extension. Don't exports always have to have a .dmp extension in order to be
properly imported?
