Yep, XE is (and always has been) free for production use.

Subject: Express Edition for Production

Hello all
For a new dot com startup company I'm looking at the various options available,
and one thing that struck me as new to me was that apparently you can deploy XE
free of charge for production use ?

Can anyone reliably (preferrably with oracle.com link) confirm that?

I was always under the impression that you're free to use it, as long as it's
only for non-profit applications.

PS I am fully aware of the support issues and lack of patches and all that.
This question is only about licensing.

Cheers

Stefan
