I think it's coming given the response in oracleasm-commit mailing list:

Not at all. RHEL6 is not yet certified (I think) but asmlib is a convenience
for which there are alternatives. It isn't required - even for ASM. I suspect
shortly after OEL 6 arrives (if it hasn't yet) then asmlib will appear for that
version (and work on RHEL with the same kernel).

Yes, ASMlib. And yes, there are three RPMs for it.

It seems that it is only available with Oracle Unbreakable Linux, but it is not
offered with Redhat 6.

Are we being forced to use OUL? Redhat 6 is not an option?

I don't think Red Hat 6 is certified yet.
Which RPM is missing?

A DBA in our group that is installing Oracle 11gr2 on RH6 in a RAC config with
ASM mentioned to me that there is a missing rpm for ASM. He said he could not
find that ASM rpm but is still looking.

So I was just wondering if we are on the bleeding edge here....has anyone
performed such an install?

Many thanks.
