EM 2-system upgrade... on the same host?

I parsed through OTN, the documentation, etc.
Has anyone tried to do the 2-system EM upgrade but pointing it to the same
host as the original EM11g installation?
We're wondering if we could just end up with an EM12c with non-standard
port numbers, or if a pre-upgrade check will notice what we're plotting and
show us a warning that we're crazy then refuse to move forward.
I realize the confusion this could cause with all those remote agents
pointing to the same host. LOL
I am ready to do the 1-system upgrade but we're wondering if we could avoid
the down time AND use one host.
(and no, this wasn't my idea)
