Goldengate License is not the issue but only challenge will be restore of the
backup on same server. If I restore the database from backup for GG setup and
it is CDB and I can restore with different CDB but PDB will still come with
same name initially and can conflict with live environment due to same service
registered. I can rename the PDB and so is it correct assumption that I need to
take downtime initially to make sure that once DB is restored for another
instance for GG setup so that it is not conflicting with live environment OR I
might be wrong with this assumption and will not conflict.
Also can you please share any reference link or doc to be checked for more
details

I concur. The latest version of GG is extremely easy to set up. Creating tables
for DDL replication is no longer required. Ignoring truncates or deletes is a
breeze. Since the advent of the integrated extract and replicat processes, GG
setup is extremely easy. The only problem with GG is the price. Quest is much
more flexible with the SharePlex and will even rent a license when doing an
upgrade or move to another platform. SharePlex is a proven product, long time
in the market and with a rock solid reputation, so the risk is minimal. It
will take some more effort than GG to setup SharePlex, but the end result is
fast and reliable replication. That can be used to migrate between versions and
between platforms.

Just a few questions, is the application critical? From your email, I’m
assuming it is.
What is the database for?
What application or service?
Oracle GoldenGate would be the easiest way to ensure that you don’t take a
outage/downtime.
