Guys, thanks all for suggestions. I'd not to generate a flame. Unfortunately this database is already in production and I'm only trying to achieve a better performance and a better design help me to save time in future when sure this DB will become larger and heavier. There's no actually a real performance problem and I'm agree that storage design is really poor, or simply, was not considered. You have also to consider that not always you are able to design a start with a right architecture. I'm not my company and I've to respect many things. Sure I'll opt for interval partitioning and with the actual storage design having many tbs will be not a goal. I'll take care of Tim Gorman scripts seems to be really interesting. My porpure was only to discuss with you about this question and to get ides and/or real experience about it. Thanks again Ste -- http://www.stefanocislaghi.eu
