Since its 11gR2 it's worth having a read on grid link data source where it's 
recommended to give scan name in JDBC connect strings. There are ways which you 
can configure FCF or TAF. 
MOS documents are available on how to configure FCF for JDBC in 11gR2 using 
scan.
