This issue of the NoCOUG Journal is the funniest ever but is still chock full
of useful information as always. Please forward it to your friends or
colleagues who will benefit from it.

Funny bits:

  *   Page 7: The founder of the OakTable Network, Mogens Norgaard, calls the
NoCOUG Journal editor an “old, bitter, twisted idiot” for bad-mouthing NoSQL.

  *   Page 9: Mogens claims that “NoCOUG is dead as such. Just like user groups
for mainframe operators or typesetters.” P.S. Please prove him wrong by
registering for the February 22 NoCOUG
conference<https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fnocoug.wildapricot.org%2FEmailTracker%2FLinkTracker.ashx%3FlinkAndRecipientCode%3DziW0WRf%252bMdHo14JmdsOx6b%252bt7urN%252bz%252fgtaWJRT32RMpt3%252fGbL0%252fkL89c8gQ4GCvsEvJnECyTgX5AhqxlfTt644bldyRkWijBUX9mh69r4Fw%253d&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cabb72d207994453cf30d08d56f4e5e2d%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636537304727481858&sdata=zR6uTKKXNctyowhdW3VLm0ih%2FlXAgRDXbQZRUvf2rWo%3D&reserved=0>!

  *   Page 7: Mogens admits that “whenever he recommends or doesn’t recommend
something, most people go out and do exactly the opposite, so in that sense he
has a great deal of influence.” Please prove him right by registering for the
February 22 NoCOUG
conference<https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fnocoug.wildapricot.org%2FEmailTracker%2FLinkTracker.ashx%3FlinkAndRecipientCode%3DziW0WRf%252bMdHo14JmdsOx6b%252bt7urN%252bz%252fgtaWJRT32RMpt3%252fGbL0%252fkL89c8gQ4GCvsEvJnECyTgX5AhqxlfTt644bldyRkWijBUX9mh69r4Fw%253d&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cabb72d207994453cf30d08d56f4e5e2d%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636537304727481858&sdata=zR6uTKKXNctyowhdW3VLm0ih%2FlXAgRDXbQZRUvf2rWo%3D&reserved=0>!

  *   Page 27: Season 31 Episode 4 of “Where in the World is Kerry Osborne?”

Useful information about Oracle Database:

  *   Page 21: Always-fresh materialized views without using “refresh on
commit” in Oracle 12c Release 2 (no way!)

  *   Page 24: Converting a non-partitioned table into a partitioned table with
one click in Oracle 12c Release 2 (finally!)

  *   Page 24: Automatic list partitioning in Oracle 12c Release 2 (finally!)

  *   Page 14: The series on licensing Oracle Database in the cloud continues
with a look at Oracle Corporation’s own database cloud service (finally!)
