Paula My experience, having worked for software vendors, is that you are correct. Patchsets generally get a "modest" amount of regression testing, at best. Just to cheer you up, individual patches may receive practically no regression testing. Of course, that was also fun as the one-off patch instructs you to use the PERL installed with Oracle (which didn't work we ended up using /usr/bin/perl with success) - installing the opatch software, etc. BTW, I did look to see first if the patchset 9.2.0.6 was out......so..... I wondered if Oracle even does regression testing anymore because this problem was not present with 9.2.0.4. BEWARE - EITHER GO TO 9.2.0.4 OR WAIT TILL 9.2.0.6 would be my advice ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE RUNNING 64-BIT ORACLE ON SOLARIS 2.9 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html -----------------------------------------------------------------
