Attempting to run an SQL Script in background (with nohup) in HP-UX is
Failing

 

Details:-

 

SQL Script Runs without nohup

 

$ sqlplus system/manager @f11.sql

 

SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Fri May 11 14:45:09 2007

 

Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

 

Connected to:

Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit
Production

With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options

 

SQL>

SQL> spool f11

SQL>

SQL> select count(*) from sys.dba_users;

 

  COUNT(*)

----------

        28

 

SQL>

SQL> exit;

 

Attempting to Run with nohup Fails 

 

$ nohup sqlplus system/manager @f11.sql &

 

Sending output to nohup.out

 

[2] + Stopped (tty output)     nohup sqlplus system/manager @f11.sql &

 

$ cat nohup.out

 

SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Fri May 11 14:38:21 2007

 

Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

 

$ uname -a

HP-UX hpport3 B.11.23 U ia64 1312688625 unlimited-user license

Oracle 10gR2

 

NOTE - Running with nohup (the Same Script) on Solaris 10 works
normally.

 

Qs. Advice pls on how to run an SQL Script in background with nohup on
HP-UX?
