In the last week I’ve heard stories of problems applying the PSU and other
people having no problems. So far, I’ve applied the combo PSU four times
without a problem.
One thing I did catch from one person was that they used applied the GI Combo
PSU in January and were trying to apply the April database only PSU – I’m not
sure that’s an issue but it does seem a bit suspect. They are doing some
testing revolving around that to see if that might be the issue right now.
Of course, other common causes can includes issues with the OPatch directories
permissions, not starting OPatch in the right directory and some other things
OPatch is sensitive about.

Subject: Re: April PSU - 11.2.0.4 Issues?
Scott,
I applied it on an Oracle 11.2.0.4 database and GI on Linux 6. The database
and GI had the Jan PSU before the patch. There was no conflict and patching
was successful.

Has anyone tried to install the April PSU on 11.2.0.4 in Red Hat yet? I’m
trying to do it on both Red Hat 6 and Red Hat 7 and both error out. I didn’t
have any trouble with the 12.1.0.2 PSU.
I get a huge list of conflicts and I used Oracle’s conflict checker which told
me “yes there are conflicts, but there are no fixes”. When I clicked the
button to generate a request, that errored too.
I’ve never had an issue with a patch set before, so this is a bit frustrating.
In Red Hat 6, I get the following list:
