I have performance problem accessing Metalink at the moment. Elapsed time
between calls is too big ;)
Has any body observing the same behaviour?

The same in Latvia (Baltics).
We observe this behaviour regular after 16:00 (+2GTM 14:00)

Is anybody having problems accessing Metalink from the UK? (or from
anywhere else for that matter). 5 minutes to get the login prompt, 20
minutes latter and I'm still waiting for the page to render completely
