It's a new install on a brand new machine. However, further review showed that my UNIX team didn't quite get all the prerequisites done. There were two sets of libraries and a few patches missing. Oops. I know...I shoulda checked it, but I gave them chapter 2 of the install guide and said "make it so". They said they did, so there we are. Film at 11:00! And Thanks! I didn't have any problems with the install itself altho our new security stuff made it possible to only copy the cd's to disk and install from disk so maybe that made a difference. When you are installing patches, be sure you get the patches for AIX5L, not Aix 5 64bit. I am trying to install Oracle 9iR2 on AIX5.2(L). The genclntsh and other link commands are failing with 'file not found' messages for a file called 'shr.o'. This file isn't anywhere in $ORACLE_HOME. Any tips? Experience? FM's? What didn't I install to have this file missing?
