- I also did have a similar issue many moons ago on AIX.
- The "root.sh" did not set the SetUID permissions on the "oracle" executable and this gave all sorts of problems similar to what you are seeing. Could you check the permission of "$ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle" for your DB Home? It should have 'rws-r-s--x' or similar... <ajw, those ar the exact permissions>
