Thanks for the reply Joe - but we never did go to 11gR1 so I was not aware
if it required or allowed the OCR/voting files/ASM spfile to be stored
inside an ASM diskgroup.
I thought it was more like 10gR2 RAC where these files were contained in
raw devices.
