This particular cluster is using ASM, but we have other clusters using
OCFS2.

Also if you are using OCFS2. You have to update the OCFS2 rpms.
Have you done some risk analysis what will be the impact on your
subsystems and device drivers when you upgrade or change your kernel?
Are they still certified?
