Since it is a 32bit app I do not believe the app would use more than 4Gb of ram even if the system had 1Tb. ________________________________ From: ora-apps-dba-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ora-apps-dba-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of kathy duret Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2007 12:01 PM To: ora-apps-dba@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: What Linux do you use for your 11i or 12i EBS - 32 bit or 64 bit I really think we will need it... my issue that I am faced is political... 64 bit will not run into the memory issues of 32 bit but the lag in patches is stalling our progressioin with our install. I was just trying to get a feel for if people are on 32 or 64 bit and why or what issues they are facing... Kind of a sanity check and to see what other people are doing..... I want to be doing what it right for my company but I don't want to be on the bleeding edge.. But with doing an apps install of any kind there are always cuts and bruises along the way. Just want to have an ample supply of bandages and neosporin. I have been out of EBS for 5-6 years and it has changed so much ... trying to play catch up and do my regular job... Until 11i we did split configurations. Db tier on 64 bit and apps tier on 32 bit. This can be used on rel 12 as well. Unless you need capabilites of 64 bit on application tier.
