There's a lot of issue possible with Concurrent GSM not starting â

I met the following in 11.5.9 on linux :

Upgrading OS from linux RH2.1 to RH3.0, the interoperability patch for
RH3.0 was

Not applied successfully , especially for the stubs libraries
($ORACLE_HOME(806)/lib/stubs).

CM started only when the profile option was set to 'N' â

After reapplying the interop patch and relink all executables with adadmin
,

The CM and GSM stated fine !!!

What version?

I had the same problem right after applying ATG RUP3, if I did not set
GSM=n, managers would not come back. This is a bug and you should apply ATG
RUP4 or apply a one-off patch if you do not wanna go to RUP4. You should
open a TAR to make sure this is the case. Have you check the manager log
file?
I'm on 11.5.10.2

Hi,

Could you post the error massages from Internal manager log file generated

when the GSM Enabled = Y and error messages for OOP when the GSM Enabled =
N ?

Please respond to ora-apps-dba@free lists.org

I tired that already as soon as you changed the profile you need to restart the CM inorder to start the output process.

Thanks anyway

Dear Mr.Fadi,

Workaround:
Set the profile option Concurrent: GSM Enabled to n and start all the
Concurrent managers and after starting set the value to Y and start your
output processorsâ

Thanks and Reagrds,
Srawan

Subject: Concurrent: GSM Enabled

Dear apps dbas,
When I sent the (Concurrent: GSM Enabled) option to y the CM is not able
to
start and when I set it to N it dose start but the OPP (output processors)
stoped working and you can only make it work if you set the (Concurrent:
GSM Enabled) profile to Y which make the CM not working.

What is this profile (Concurrent: GSM Enabled) and is there any workaround

Regards Fadi
