The IOLMaster has the ability to store a PDF locally on its' hard drive
which is then accessible through the network. Additionally the IOLMaster
has a bi-directional (DICOM) interface which allows Patient Demographics
from an Image Management system to populate the patient demographics in
the IOLMaster and then pass the report back to the Image Management
System. FORUM the Zeiss Image Management System uses this in conjunction
with the EMR to ensure there is large reduction in charting errors and
ensure a smooth and seamless workflow.

The capture station gets a PDF from the IOL Master via a translation box.
Saves the file and prints it, so you are printing the PDF. Symphony
circles around every 5 minutes or so picking up the images it doesn?t have
from each of our capture stations.

Yeah, that?s one solution if you have that. Basically, it?s taking a PDF
of the output. It won?t directly dump from the IOL to any server. But a
screen grab to OIS will work, if you have that option.

Ours goes out through an OIS capture station to a network laser printer.
In our paperless future these will be stored in OIS Symphony.

We have an IOLMaster in our practice but i don't use it. Are there
special considerations when choosing a printer?

Just curious for when our printer dies...

Thanks

We?re using the Brother HL 5250DN. Came from Zeiss. They ought to have
a list of compatible printers. This instrument CAN be networked, but
only for printing purposes, not to connect to a server?.

Hi Pat
I can go through a WebEx of the software with you if you wish so you know
the work flow. All you would need is to be in front of a computer with a
web browser. Feel free to give me a call and we can set it
up...647-309-9271. Another option is to go to the Clarity Website and
access the training modules (
http://www.claritymsi.com/us/retcamtraining.html). Go to the RetCam
Training option (not the self-certification), select if you will be using
RetCam II or RetCam 3 and within each there is a module on the FA. Take a
look and then we can chat/WebEx.

Although we use the RetCam at our facility we do not have angiogram
capabilities on our unit. On Friday I will be traveling to another
facility to do a RetCam FA on an equipped system. Are the software
settings pretty obvious, starting the timer, etc? Any tips or
suggestions?

Thanks,
