It all depends on which model you have. Apple in their "infinite wisdom" has 3 different ones on offer that I know of, depending on when you bought it. My MacBook Pro was the first model they bought out, and my adaptor is similar to the ones for PCs. Now my wife's MacBook Pro is 2 years old, and I had to buy one for her, and it is a VGA to mini plug due to the smaller size of the connector socket in the laptop. NOW, I heard that with the new models, they have changed the connectors yet again. :o( WHY DIDN'T THEY LEAVE THEM ALONE. If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it !!!! My advice is go to an Apple dealer with your laptop and do what I did, try them until you find the one that fits. Their descriptions of these plugs ARE very confusing to say the least. I need a DVI to VGH adaptor to connect a Mac Book to a PC Projector for Grand Rounds A dizzying array of adaptors on Amazon.com. They all LOOK alike, with different discriptions. All say “for Macbook ) Yet, how come so many? I already ordered one I thought would work and the female end to connect to the MacBook is too large Don’t wish to go down this road again. Why not just one generic size?
