Wow 14000 homes. Good job we are not packed in quite so squeezy.
I gather much of your problem stems from planting Eucalyptus. Here it is
endemic and requires fire as part of the natural cycle to propagate,
unfortunate for those trapped.

All good in the West.
Where the fires are raging is in the Eastern States. These heroic firefighters
(some from Canada and the US) having been fighting fires for the last 3 months.
The footage on TV has been horrific and people are loosing there houses and
properties. Many of the fire workers are unpaid volunteers some have returned
home to find their own homes burnt to the ground: what heros!
Thank you all for their kind thoughts in this time of natural disaster, rain
would be good.
