Hi Pam.  I don't know if you can tighten the camera holder up; I doubt it.
 The plastic won't shrink, but likely melt.  You can tape and/or glue it
and see how that works.  I taped mine and it works so so now.  Also, some
optacons have that little threaded knob which holds the camera in place by
screwing into the end of the camera.
