ITV vs Video latencies has always been a problem when one tries to sync
the two - even with non-IPTV video. The solution for this is to either
A. measure the latency if it is constant, and build it into the ITV app,
or B. transmit OOB timestamping and offset against internal dynamic
buffer sizing, for the ITV app to be able to determine on the fly what
the 'video' time is vs. the lagged time is. You have to do this if the
ITV middleware has to dynamically pull carouseled data like bitmaps for
a football game anyways.

At least though with IPTV you can easily 'tune' to multiple ip feeds
without having the old inband chicken and outofband egg signal tuning
problem. :)

Cheers
