I did see a demo recently, a very brief one, and I must say I was impressed,
but I would not consider myself an expert. Hence, my interest in the
subject.

Please remind me again, I haven't looked at that EBU review mpeg/dvb special
for so long, I have lost track of it and can't find it anymore. MPEG divides
the image into blocks, a macroblock is 8*8 block, was
the 4:2:2 sampling done at macroblock level? Samples are gathered (DCT?)
quantified, averaged and rounded and runlength encoded... I have been out of
this stuff for some time and therefor easily confused;-).
