Mark,

J&R's ad is misleading.  The online item is here:

And clearly there is no ATSC tuner. What they mean by "digital tuning" is that you get to tune the NTSC receiver using digits, rather than the scanning "thermometer" display so common with these very low end sets. And the photo at the above link does appear to be a 16:9 display.

The "widescreen display" also appears to be 4:3.
