Radio Shack is selling for $60 the Digital Stream Technology model DTX9900, just the size of a VHS cassette.

Mine receives 18 RF channels and provides 38 programs.

Sounds like they would like the opportunity to "upsell." Instead "would you
like fries with that shake?" they can lead you down the profitable primrose
path of inexpensive accessories, and give you a few pointers that would tend
to minimize returns.

Harder to do that online.

Do not ascribe to conspiracy that which is better explained by incompetence.
Remember, this is a government program.

P.S., the Radio Shack website says that the box is not available
online, only in stores. More conspiracy theories, Bert?

You kidding me? Of course!

I noticed that too, and failed to comment. It would be far to convenient to
be able to order online. This way, instead, they can keep the inventory
ridiculously low, so every time you go there, they will be out of stock. And
have another chance to tempt you with the DBS box again.

This business is not for the faint of heart.
