I wonder if you have something wrong with your WiFi system or if you have an
analog wireless phone. I have a SMC 802.11G WiFi router with dual antennas.
I recently replaced one of the original antennas that came with the router
with one that has 4 dB of gain. I also have a 2-line Panasonic 2.4GHz FHSS
phone with the base station within 30 inched from my router and I have no
problems. In fact, I regularly can see 4 to 5 networks when I do a network
scan with my wireless utility and I can easily connect to the Internet from
my neighbor's house behind my house which is a distance of about 60 to 100
feet. Both of our homes are stucco with the typical chicken wire netting
under the stucco and dry wall interior walls. My speed goes down to about
12 Mbps, compared to the typical 36-48 Mbps I get in my home or on my patio.
BTW, I get these speeds whether I am using one of my phones or not.

Knocks
WiFi out cold.

Another good one:

This way you at least bump all users from the AP to hog the bandwidth :-)
