What can this spectrum be used for?  Are we going to end up with taxi 
cabs and land-mobile users
on adjacent channels to on-air broadcasters?  A recipe for disaster.

If the plan was to vacate the VHF channels and move totally to the UHF 
spectrum then a plan to vacate
some VHF channels might make sense.  But some stupid decision was made 
to allow the broadcaster to
stay on their old assigned ANALOG channel or to stay on their newly 
assigned DIGITAL channel.
But if channel 5 here in LA decides to stay on their digital channel of 
channel 31 they will always be known
as channel 5.  How dumb can you get.

But they probably will not choose to put digital on channel 5 because of 
receiver design issues.  The CBS
television network owned and operated stations in the major markets that 
have a channel 2 analog assignment
have announced they will wait and request a new assignment in the UHF or 
high VHF channel bands.

Things just go from BAD to WORSE.
