My suggestion is that in terms of a la carte offerings, the question is one of cost to consumers. More control at greater cost is not necessarily what consumers are asking for, but it's likely what they'd get. Even by the FCC's own figures, which they divulged recently (in which they estimated either modest savings or higher fees, depending on choices, with a la carte). I think, on the other hand, that this new "switched video" idea is far less ambiguous as to what it would cause in "control in the hands of consumers."
