MOST people can make 8VSB work in a fixed location, if they are willing to install an antenna system that deals with local market conditions. Not many people seem interested in doing this. I suspect it has something to do with the limited amount of programming one can get when they go to this effort. I am tempted to get a receiver so that i can get the local ABC and Fox stations in HD...but I suspect they will be available on my cable system soon, so why bother?
